Lucy Cunningham – Oxford, UK

The area is very pretty and of course brimming with art and history, and there are plenty of good, reasonably-priced restaurants nearby. It is perhaps not the most interesting for teenagers, but the great pool, WiFi and games at the villa make up for this. I would suggest taking a dictionary as English is not as widely spoken as in some parts of Italy.

We have had quite a few villa holidays and with most houses there is a problem to be overcome on arrival - not so clean, a duff room, something that doesn't work, you find out that cleaning costs extra etc. There was none of that here. I suppose the only slight criticism was that it was unusually hot weather when we stayed, and it would have benefitted from air con in one of the bedrooms. However we all agreed that this is the nicest house we have stayed in and we would not hesitate to return.
